A second course in quantitative analysis in business including statistical inference, classification analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, introduction to data mining.
This was the second required course that I took for my minor, and I enjoyed myself. It started out with a review of simple data analysis that I have learned and applied from from summer internships as a Quality Engineer at First Quality in Macon, GA. We reviewed over correlation, hypothesis testing, simple regression analysis, plots, and ANOVA testing.
Then we started learning about multiple regression analysis, logistic regression, time studies, predictive modeling, and data mining. We had multiple opportunities to work on our Excel abilities because my professor gave us practice Excel documents that we could use and apply our skills. I enjoyed this class because I find data analysis fun and an extremely useful skill as an engineer, especially if I do end up working in Quality Engineering.
